2024--day 1

Welcome back my friends, to the show that never ends....

Our first day was relatively uninteresting, but two things stuck out to me in Indiana, home of Mike Pence.  The Indiana Turnpike was in worse shape than the New York State Thruway (think the corduroy road that The Tragically Hip sang about), and the Indiana Dinosaur Museum.  I couldn't help but think that it's an empty building, given the location. 

Somewhere in Indiana or Illinois (honestly, what's the difference), one of the students bought a bag of Skittles that he said tasted like it had gone bad.  Who knew that Skittles could spoil? 

What never seemed to end was the highway.  We left Brockport at 10 am, and after 760 miles of driving over some of the finest toll-sponsored roads (thanks, Indiana), we arrived in Davenport, Iowa just before 11 pm central.  That's six states in one day, by my count.  Good night, Seattle, we love you!
