2014--Day 6
A long travel day for us. Late end to the previous night = late start next day. A large slight risk area didn't provide us with a lot of confidence, so we decided to go back to Valentine to fetch a lost license. Recall that Cherry County is a huge void, with a lousy road network. Naturally, there were 8 tornado reports along with softball-sized hail, but we were gone by then. The next plan was to drive to Aberdeen, SD, in anticipation of potential action tomorrow.
On our way to Aberdeen (a LONG way at that), we saw numerous pheasants along the side of the road (apparently, Redfield is the pheasant capital of the world). We also ran across a Catholic church in a near-ghost town in Faulk County with the following displayed on the sign:
No Mass on Weekends
Doesn't that violate some kind of commandment?
Final tally: 510 miles. Let's hope for some action tomorrow!
